The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo created history by taking the first position in the fourth quarter of the 2019 calendar year on the Indian smartphone market.

Vivo grabbed 21 percent of the market in second place while Samsung placed third with a market share of 19 percent. According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi was at No. 1 with 27% share in Q4 2019.

The other participants were Oppo and Realme with a market share of 12 and 8% respectively in the top five.

Due to good performance in the budget segment, Vivo grew 76% (year-by-year) in the full year of 2019 and 134% in Q4 2019.

Tarun Pathak, Relate Chairman, Contrapoint, pivoted the S structure too effectively within the off-lined segment and aggressively put it online with unused highlights within the Rs 15,000 Rs 20,000 section.

As a result, Vivo won the second place in the smartphone market for the first time in India.

Vivo has expanded 24 times in the Indian market over the last four years.

Vivo is display all through the nation in over 70,000 retail outlets.
